My design work has been increasingly directed towards what is brought into the home. In my business I don’t want to create an empire or own a bunch of workers. I do want to learn to fill my life with things that are made with quality and as much as possible, by people who I have met. As I learn to do this I hope to encourage others to declutter their lives from all the “great deals” they found at the large box stores made cheaply and out of poor materials or plastic.

Sustainability in the food culture has been developing into a rich community in the last several years. I want to see a maturity in the community for designers. Today, there is a strong DIY movement that is exciting, but the focus on craftsmanship and the production of quality, local raw materials is still a challenge.

The starting point in all my work is the raw material. No matter what the design, the materials will determine the quality of the product.
